The start of the state Legislature’s session is only few weeks away and state Sen. Ruben Diaz Sr. is ready to cause trouble – and maybe become a conference of one. “I am going to be a troublemaker for everybody,” Diaz (D-Bronx) said in an interview Wednesday with the Daily News. Diaz, it seems, has not forgotten the Senate’s vote to legalize gay marriage and the move by Senate leaders and Lt. Gov. Robert Duffy –who was presiding over the chamber at the time – to limit debate on the issue. “My leader, John Sampson, did not even stand up to defend my right to speak,” Diaz said. “He allowed my rights to be violated.” Diaz refused to say whether he was planning to lave the Democratic conference, but … “I am completely independent,” Diaz said.
