DEC To Allow Limited Fracking


Liz Benjamin over at State of Politics reports on the state DEC plan to allow gas exploration in NY’s Southern Tier.

Approximately 85 percent of the Marcellus Shale would be accessible to natural gas extraction under these recommendations.

The DEC decision is one that I have been recommending since 2010. I recently wrote an op-ed unmasking the “Phony fears on Fracking. Kudos goes out to Governor Cuomo for allowing science, not hysteria, to guide state environmental and economic development policies.
