‘Demonican’ seeks to replace Rangel | Capital New York


In his report about Bronx Assemblyman Nelson Castro‘s support for state Senator Adriano Espaillat‘s challenge to Rep. Charlie Rangel, Capital New York blogger Azi Paybaragh included a typo that many Rangel supporters may agree is an apt description of Sen. Espaillat.

State Senator Adriano Espaillat, a Demonican-American (sic) Democrat, is circulating petitions to get on the ballot against 21-term congressman Charlie Rangel. One of the elected officials who appears on Espaillat’s petitions as a member of his Committee to Fill Vacancies is Assemblyman Nelson Castro of the Bronx, whose district slightly overlaps with the newly drawn lines of the Rangel district.
